The American Sports Builders Association announced their new Board of Directors, including Motz Director of Project Management, Allen Verdin, CFB, who will serve as Fields Division President. Allen has been a member of ASBA since 2012 and previously held the role of Secretary and Treasurer of the Board. Allen is looking forward to this new opportunity to continue to expand his contribution to ASBA and the industry over the two-year term. Motz is proud to have Allen on their team and as a representative of Motz as an ASBA Board Member.

American Sports Builders Association (ASBA) promotes the highest standards in design, construction, and maintenance. ASBA is a non-profit trade association comprised of builders, designers, and suppliers for sports facilities. The members of ASBA improve sports facility construction and maintenance, promote the interests of builders of sports facilities based on construction type, lead the development of current and accurate technical information in the sports field construction industry, and offer an awards program of excellence to design, construction and renovation for sports projects. The organization also provides educational resources and informational guides to help consumers make well-informed decisions on sports field projects.

Allen has been an integral part of the Motz Operations team since 2012, after spending close to 20 years as a Construction Supervisor and Project Manager. During his time as a Motz Project Manager, he oversaw 100+ synthetic turf and natural grass installations, including projects with the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Ravens, Grand Park Sports Campus, FC Cincinnati, and University of Cincinnati.

Allen attended the University of Cincinnati and holds certifications from Allied Construction Industries in Project Management, Estimating, and Excel, as well as a certification from the Project Management Academy (FMI) in 2015. Allen is an active member of ASBA, and his commitment to the organization previously and currently includes:

  • Certified Field Builder
  • Technical Meeting Planning Committee
  • Secretary & Treasurer of the Board of Directors
  • Lead Instructor for ASBA Fields Academy
  • Contributions to CFB Certification Committee, Field Builders Guidelines Review Committee, and CFB Test Review Committee
  • Frequent Speaker at ASBA Technical Meetings

"Allen's leadership and unwavering commitment to excellence have been instrumental in shaping not only The Motz Group but also the industry as a whole. His appointment as the Fields Division President of the ASBA Board of Directors is a well-deserved recognition of his expertise, passion, and dedication to advancing the field building profession. We are incredibly proud to have Allen representing Motz and leading the way in driving innovation and quality across the industry."
