We install Envirofill in all putting green projects because we have found it to be high quality and a consistent product compared to using regular raw sand. Envirofill does not absorb bacteria and works to fight off mold and mildew due to the Microban antimicrobial technology.
Envirofill was our go-to infill option for The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis because of the versatility of the product. Each artificial turf application is a unique installation, but they all endure heavy use and need to be safe with numerous children playing on the turf daily. One of the reasons we chose Envirofill was its expected performance in a flood situation — and it proved itself. As expected, Envirofill stayed in place during a flood event. It made the cleanup possible and the field playable quickly after the water receded.
We love our infield with Safeshell infill. The ball reacts with the surface much more like traditional dirt and helps reduce the bounce as compared to rubber infill. Our athletes have played on several different surfaces, and they feel ours is one of the best.
We chose 100% organic Safeshell for our 5-a-side soccer fields because it is a natural high-performance, low-maintenance infill that is organic, safe, and durable. Safeshell provided us with a high-performance field surface that would stay consistent and endure various types of weather and not impact the playability. In the first six months, Safeshell has lived up to our expectations as being low-maintenance, durable, and safe. All of the parents’ questions surrounding the topic of Safeshell and allergens were answered thoroughly. No issues have surfaced since the athletes have been playing on the field. You will never fully know the impact of this project. I go down there every Friday and hang out with the kids on the playground. Not only do they consistently and enthusiastically embrace it, they thank me over and over and over and over for it. They just cannot believe it. In all my years of building facilities to support student learning and enjoyment, this is right at the top. We as a community could not possibly be more blessed.
