Schedule a site assessmentThe Importance of Proper Court Structure
Whether you’re building a court from scratch, retrofitting an existing facility, or replacing a cracked court, it’s important to focus on the structure.
Safe Sidelines: We will calculate the right amount of square footage between courts and fencing so athletes have an optimal runoff area for out-of-bounds movement.
Precision Drainage: We will configure outdoor courts properly, keeping surrounding topography in mind, to redirect the sheet flow of rainwater and eliminate damaging pooling.
A Strong Base: We will consult with you on your desired court base, explaining the benefits to each material and creating a court that is meant to last.
Choose Your Surface System and Colors
Standard Acrylic
The classic choice for schools and public parks.
Multiple acrylic paint coatings are applied directly to properly cured asphalt or concrete. This type of paint is durable and low-sheen. It’s mixed with specific sand that provides an anti-slip texture for athletes.
Cushion Systems
The premium choice for private clubs and competitive programs.
Cushioning is applied on top of cured asphalt or concrete and then coated in acrylic paint. In squeegee-applied cushion layers there is a fine gradation of rubber that provides traction and absorbs impact for athletes.
Coat a Court That’s Yours
Through our vendors, Motz has access to hundreds of coloring options that allow you to customize your court facility. Match the court to your school’s colors or provide multi-sport striping for dual pickleball and tennis courts.
Multi-Sport Court Solutions
The 2-in-1 Conversion: Do you have an extra or neglected tennis court? A standard tennis court perfectly fits two full-size pickleball courts. We’ll retrofit the existing court and add additional lines for pickleball regulations.
Multi-Sport Striping: Want to keep your tennis court but add extra pickleball functionality? We’ll update your existing surface with varied, brightly colored lines that accommodate both sports in one court without confusing athletes.
Motz’s Court Maintenance
Asphalt and concrete are susceptible to freezing, thawing, and cracking. With a standard resurfacing cycle of 3 to 5 years, Motz provides the deep maintenance your court needs to prolong its life and keep it functional.
Repairs & Re-coating: We expertly fill cracks, patch low spots where water pools, and repaint peeling lines. If high-traffic areas lose their texture and become slick, we will re-coat them to prevent athlete injury.
Professional Cleaning: Using too much pressure can remove sand and rubber from acrylic paint, creating a slippery court. We use the right amount of pressure to sanitize soiled areas and remove mold and algae without destroying your court’s surface.
Winterizing Your Court: You can protect your court from the elements by taking down nets and poles before winter so they don't freeze and expand. If you notice a crack forming, we’ll seal it before cold temperatures cause more damage.
