When the Braves began the process of designing their new home, they naturally turned to their long-time field partner in Motz to engineer a high-tech, state-of-the-art vacuum and ventilation field system.
The Motz Group delivered on that challenge with the development of AirPAT™ – the most advanced field management system available today. AirPAT was the natural evolution of the original PAT system that was installed at Turner Field and dozens of other high-performance athletic facilities around the country for over 30 years. The advancements made on this new system allowed the Braves to further customize their rootzone management for the field at Truist Park. The design/build contract encompassed all work above subgrade, including drainage, irrigation, rootzone, sod, infield, mounds, warning track, bullpens, batting cages, trench drains, water recycling, rootzone ventilation, geothermal-assisted rootzone warming and cooling, and all electro-mechanical components associated with the AirPAT™ system.
